Zay Flowers had his first game this season without a catch against the Bills: 5 targets, no catches and -7.3 expected points added (EPA), what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. He was the target on Lamar Jackson's only pass, a short throw to the right on the first snap that fell incomplete.

The costly one came down 13-7 with 1:21 left in the half, on the drive a Buffalo fumble had started. First and 5 at the Baltimore 35, Joe Fagnano threw short left for him, and Davison Igbinosun intercepted at midfield and returned it 17 yards to the 33: -4.1 EPA and 15.7 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win. Buffalo kicked a field goal for 16-7. His last target, on third and 6 late in the third, also fell incomplete.

It was a sharp turn from his season. Through Week 7 he had 40 catches on 53 targets for 608 yards, 3 touchdowns and +32.5 EPA, and 8 catches for 137 yards against the Bengals a week earlier.
