Patrick Mahomes had his worst night of the season against the Seahawks: 19 of 33 for 165 yards, no touchdowns and an interception, sacked once, plus 2 scrambles for 14 yards, in a 20-3 loss at Seattle. Over 36 dropbacks he was worth -4.2 expected points added (EPA), what a play was worth given down, distance and field position, -0.12 a dropback, his lowest rate in any game this season. His completion percentage over expected (CPOE), which compares completions with what each throw's difficulty predicts, was -9.8.

The throw that cost the most came down 3-0 with 6:09 left in the half, one snap after an incompletion and two after Kenneth Walker III converted fourth and 1. Second and 10 at the Seattle 46: he threw short left for Jalen Royals, Nick Emmanwori hit him on the throw, and Ty Okada intercepted at the 34, -3.78 EPA and -13.7 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win, the largest swing of the game. Seattle scored a touchdown on the next drive. He went 8 of 15 for 68 yards in the first half.

His best work came on third down in the second half: an 18-yarder to Travis Kelce on third and 7 to the Seattle 33, which set up Harrison Butker's 50-yard field goal, and a 19-yarder to Kelce on third and 6 from his own 17 in the fourth. That drive reached the Seattle 27, where his third-and-3 throw for Cyrus Allen fell incomplete and Butker missed from 45.

Through Week 6 he had +32.5 EPA on 174 dropbacks, +0.19 a dropback, with a CPOE of +2.5. The 165 yards were his fewest this season, and it was his second straight game without a touchdown pass, after at least two in each of his first four.
