Not every sack belongs to the offensive line. Charters mark the ones where the quarterback held the ball past the play's expiry, drifted up into pressure that was going to miss him, or missed an open receiver with time to throw. As a share of dropbacks that is the portion of a team's sack total the passer carries himself, and it is the reason two quarterbacks behind identical protection can post sack numbers that look nothing alike.
