Defensive Blitz Rate Leaders
Defensive Blitz Rate — 2025 NFL leaders, updated Jul 26, 2026. Minnesota Vikings led the league in blitz rate at 46.0%, ahead of 31 other qualifying teams. Based on verified 2025 play-by-play data (nflverse); Half-PPR scoring.
Blitz rate is how often a defense sends a fifth rusher or more. It is a philosophy, not a grade — the useful read is the next two columns, because a defense that blitzes often and generates pressure often is doing something different from a defense that blitzes often and does not. Fantasy relevance runs through the opposing offense: heavy-blitz defenses concede more quick throws to backs and slot receivers.
